For those who may be coming to this area and are interested in Japanese archery, the Seisenkai Kyudo Club, which practices at the dojo in Motomachi Koen (Motomachi Park) near downtown Yokohama, welcomes observers at practice sessions.
Seisenkai practices regularly on Wednesday and Saturday evenings from 5 pm to 9 pm. Beginning students are not accepted at the moment, but for those already having a dan rank and adequate skills, membership is available. If you would like more detailed directions or information, please feel free to contact me at MisterMicawber@gmail.com.
Sekimoto Akira-sensei, 8-dan, former president of the Yokohama Kyudo Association and of Seisenkai, and my teacher for 20 years, passed away at the age of 88 on 15 December 2010. He was a paragon of patience.
